Our History
Beginning in 2014 discussions started on how to make our community more age-friendly. This group continues as Age Friendly Jackson Hole (AFJH) under the umbrella of the Senior Center of Jackson Hole. In 2017, AFJH obtained the commitment and endorsement of the Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of Commissioners to become more age-friendly by applying for membership in the AARP and World Health Organization (WHO) network of age-friendly communities. This started the five-year action plan and reporting cycle required for members of the network of livable communities. Action Plan I (2017-2022) was completed in 2022 and the final progress report was approved. Action Plan II (2023-2027) was approved in July 2023.
